Show and tell

At the start of the course I was asked to bring in an example of my work in form of a show and tell, I decided to show and tell the other people on my course about my work called interaction.

“Interaction” is a large piece, made from Perspex it is 1m sq. has 100 holes drilled in it 2cm in diameter into which is inserted 100 transparent interchangeable pegs with painted ends, the ends are 1 of five colours including; red, orange, yellow, green and blue.

Interaction confers a sense of ownership

The underlying narrative exploration of work is a response to the formality of the gallery space, the interchangeability of the work breaks the gallery “don’t touch” taboo by permitting viewers to re-configure the piece according to their likes but remaining within constraints provided by its physicality.
